Getting the garden started early

You’ve read about my plant shelf weekend project and my reasons for starting plants from seed.  Here is the next step – planting the seeds!  After I completed the plant shelf, I started five varieties of tomatoes, three varieties of peppers, a salad green mix, green onions, cucumbers, zucchini, cilantro, parsley, and broccoli.  I still have a few to start later.

Here is a good stand of salad greens.  This is what they look like just six days after I planted the seeds.  This is just the first batch of these.  I’ll start more as soon as these are transplanted.

Cucumbers are looking good.  Just as with the salad, I planted these seeds six days ago.  I’ll be transplanting into larger pots in just a few days to ensure they have plenty of room to grow without getting root bound.

Tomatoes are just starting to come up but I’m optimistic that they’ll be beautiful too.
